Three new Centers of Excellence at the University of Warsaw

Over PLN 90 million for breakthrough innovations.
The University of Warsaw has launched three new research centres funded by the Foundation for Polish Science under the International Research Agendas Programme. Prof. Paweł Dłotko, Prof. Ryszard Buczyński, and Prof. Magdalena Stobińska-Moretto will lead teams focusing on trustworthy AI for life sciences, structured optical fibres, and hybrid quantum technologies.

FNP: PLN 30 million (€7 million) for a quantum technology development center at UW

Prof. Magdalena Stobińska-Moretto will head the newly established QLAB unit. The center, funded by the Foundation for Polish Science, will focus on the development of secure quantum networks, energy-efficient artificial intelligence, and ultrasensitive measurement methods. The researchers’ main goal will be the direct transfer of innovative technologies from science to industry.

MAB: Prof. Stobińska-Moretto and Prof. Buczyński as leaders of new centers

Prof. Magdalena Stobińska-Moretto and Prof. Ryszard Buczyński will head two innovative centers under the International Research Agendas (MAB) program. The new research center will focus on developing secure quantum networks and energy-efficient artificial intelligence, with a strong emphasis on the commercialization of results and close cooperation with the industry.

Marcin Zimny Joins QLAB as Administrative Director

The QLAB team has been strengthened by an experienced manager of scientific and R&D projects. Marcin Zimny takes on the role of the Center’s Administrative Director, responsible for its smooth operation – from finances and reporting to collaboration with funding institutions.
